As a writer, I have developed the ability to balance my poetic language with facts. In 2025, I was selected as one of 20 authors to be published, out of over 100 submissions, in Dreambridge Publishing’s Annual Short Story Anthology.
My piece, “Erosion,” compares the tense relationships between multiple generations of women to the elements of the coming storm poised to destroy their struggling farm. My writing style, rooted in poetry, screenplays, and stageplays, tends toward dreamlike imagery and dialogue-centric work. For this prose piece grounded in reality, I worked directly with an editing team that praised how I was able to combine my fictional plot and characters with real-world research. Set on a dairy farm in Upstate New York, I drew from my own first-hand experiences of volunteering on a farm as a teen, and folding in other research by reading excerpts from the Farmer’s Almanac and primary accounts of birthing goats to remain truthful and accurate while still telling a compelling story.
The anthology will be available for purchase later this year.
